Radiation Safety

The Radiation Safety program at Duquesne University was established in order to meet the recognized standards of safety and governmental regulatory requirements of use for all sources of ionizing radiation. These requirements are set forth in the Duquesne University "Regulations Concerning the Use of Radioisotopes and Other Sources of Ionizing Radiation".

Adherence to these regulations will ensure compliance with all Federal and State requirements and will result in safe operations of the University laboratories and the safe guarding of radioactive materials.

The Radiation Safety Program outlines the roles of individuals associated with the Radiation Safety Program, training and authorization requirements, procurement andinventory control, exposure monitoring and emergency response.
