The Environmental Health & Safety Department's primary mission is the protection of life, property and the environment on all properties of the University. It is the responsibility of this function to be aware of all present and proposed local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as professional standards and codes which define how the University maintains its facilities and equipment and to assist in managing those risks. In this role, they track developments in environmental health and safety laws and regulations, and determine which of those requirements apply to campus activities.

The Department will collaborate with faculty, staff and the University community; help the University meet these requirements by developing programs to be implemented by campus personnel, by direct services, or by a combination of these means.
